T
he Boston Area MG Club was started by a small group of MG car enthusiasts and has grown to a current membership of over 60. The club sponsors many activities, including monthly meetings, drives, technical sessions and parties. We are a very social group and encourage participation.General membership meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month. The meetings start at 7:00. Locations vary, but details will usually be posted here, and members can sign-up for email notices via our Yahoo Group.
For 2013 we have four car shows planned for downtown Boston, right between Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. What a place to show off your car! Because of the very small space available the number of cars is limited and all must be pre-registered and fully commit to attending the show.
Do people enjoy these shows? Check out this article about the second one in 2009.
Our annual car show for five years was in October at the Edaville Railroad in Carver, Massachusetts. The site offers a cranberry festival, rides for kids and craftspeople. Our last show was held October 11, 2008. You can now see an image gallery from the 2008 event Here.
Membership dues are $25.00 per year (includes a subscription to the British Marque). You do not have to own an MG to be a member. Come to a meeting to join, or use the "Join" link at the right.

PREVIOUS EVENTS
Dyno Day 2013: May 4, 2013: We had a great turnout at the 2013 Dyno Day. Members of JANE and the NE Triumphs joined us and brought along a real eclectic selection of cars, Everyone enjoyed themselves and learned a lot about their cars and their performance...the BBQ lunch wasn't bad either. Here is the link to the picture album.
Spring Dust Off Ride, April 21, 2013: Spring is still a bit chilly, but that did not stop six little British cars from participating in our first driving event of the year. Nels Anderson lead the ride from Lexington to Framingham on a variety of back roads. Kurt Steele provides a photo gallery here.
F1 Dinner & Racing, April 13, 2013: The club met at Ascari / F1 Boston for an evening of dinner and racing on their indoor track. Photos by Kurt Steele can be found here.
Columbus Day Parade, October 7, 2012: Many BAMG members joined the Columbus Day Parade through East Boston, thanks to the organization of Dean Saluti. Though a bit gray the weather held and we had a nice event. Here are some photos.
Faneuil Hall, September 29, 2012: Once again challenged by a dodgy weather forecast, and some obstacles on site, we manage to put on a presentable show. The weather actually held during the entire show period and foot traffic through the area was high as ever. Check out the photo gallery here and another one by Kurt Steele here.
British Invasion, September 14-16, 2012: BAMG was well reprented at the annual British Invasion in Stowe, VT. A photo gallery of the event can be found here.
Faneuil Hall, August 18, 2012: Despite a rather dire weather forecast and gray and damp skies all day, we managed to hold our people's choice show in Boston on the scheduled date. The weather hardly deterred the crowds and we had a nice field of cars. Congratulations to people's choice winners:
Faneuil Hall, July 29, 2012: The weather played tricks on us this time. The initial Saturday date was cancelled due to forecast rain that never showed, leaving us with a Sunday date that also looked kind of lousy, but actually turned out just fine. We had a nice group of MG's, Morgans and Minis at Faneuil Hall / Quincy Market under gray skies that yielded no rain. Check out the photo gallery here and another one from Kurt Steele here.
Scituate BBQ And Beach Ride: July 21 and 22 was a picture perfect July weekend for car events and the BAMG had two great happenings. First came the Otis AFB Car Show to benefit the troops and their families. Then on Sunday, we had our first Scituate BBQ and Beach Ride hosted by the Jays. What a great weekend to be an LBC owner! It doesn't get much better. Kurt Steele has supplied photos here.
2012 Triumph Cars And Bikes At Faneuil Hall: Our first Fanueil Hall show of 2012 featured Triumph and British motorcyles. Despite a wet start it turned out to be a nice show. Kurt Steele has provided a photo gallery here.
Belmont Town Day Car Show 2012: Several club members participate in a car show that was part of Belmont Town Day. A photo gallery of the event can be found here.
Regalia Shop Opens: The Boston Area MG Club store at Kiosk Virtual Stores has opened. Feel free to shop! You can find shirts, hats, even scrubs, sweatshirts, etc. all embroidered on demand! These are not silk screened, they are embroidered! Real nice quality. Visit the store here.
Name Badges: Kurt Steele has arranged for us to all get club name badges, which will help identify us at events and help new members to get to know everyone. An order form in Word .doc format can be downloaded here.
